The suspicious liquid in the syringe being injected into me is making my legs feel numb. A tear trickles down my cheek, but seems to freeze on the ice cold ground, now not even being felt. The kid in the cell next to me, called # 45, or 'Flapper' due to her small, Raven-like wings; is only able to use her legs after the 2-hour lasting numbness in her wings. I am apparently # 31.4, and called 'Bam' Due to my ability to break cast iron bars, and because I am apparently the first # to have wings not implanted, which went  BAM  in the whitecoat's face. (though I think Flapper is actually not implanted, either.) The numbness is so I can  learn to use my gift, unlike Flapper who will be tested for speed & agility . I say the whitecoats are crazy, because Flapper is like a little sister to me. She was terrified by the area, filled with Syringes, Implant Rooms, failed  experiments, caos, (cat cows) and Repeated blood spurts from  Blood Slash . I hummed the tune of a lullaby I heard from an orphan who was abducted for this.I called it 'Soul River'. My mind calms when I hum the tune. But when we are taken to  school ; our life is worse. The kids are graded on actions, but only the chosen children get Math, Literature and Health. Flapper and I are glad we can be getting away from the outside. Kids kill each other for 'survival of the fittest' type of games outside. But, on a day without notice, a girl is here called 90. Her  name  is 'Harriet'.  Harriet? What kind of name is Harriet? Blood Slash asks, frowning with disbelief. The girl answers with  I was an orphan before. No, actually, I was a child prodigy.  Flapper glares with anger, and she whispers  How can she be so RUDE? It's not polite to boast.  She gets placed in between Blood Slash and I, where the empty cell is. Her eyes glitter, with a small wink at the Readhead whitecoat. Flapper is still glaring, but looks like some sort of nightmare fuel, which apparently is cute to Blood Slash. (which means that in B.S.' mind, cute is nightmare fuel for him, and his nightmare fuel is what we call cute.)Blood Slash showed me images that were  cute , like this  Slenderman  guy. The whitecoats apparently give it to him so he becomes more bloodthirsty, but in the end, it does nothing. Ok, Flapper just told me with Wing Signals something colourful towards  Harriet  & the whitecoats. Very Colourful. A bit too colourful for her. Harriet is trying to engage in conversation with me. Flapper squeezes my hand in suspicion, which to me says 'don't talk to her. Her thoughts are filled with evil'. But I listen to what she says anyway.  Hi, I'm new here. Who are you?  she says, with a perky attitude.  Um, hi. I'm Bam? I answer, trying to exit the conversation.  That's a beautiful name.  She replies, but Flapper is steaming and trying to make her head blow up. And who are you? You are adorable!  She asks Flapper with the same perkiness.  ... Flapper, #45. 1st version. Like Bam. Do you have any special abilities??  Flapper asks with a slight sharp snap at the end.  Um, I have feelers, gills & lungs, Fins, Claws, and no teeth. Oh, and I can swim very fast, because in water my legs turn into a tail.  Harriet answers, with a little quiver in her voice. The whitecoats inject Harriet in her chest, into her lungs.  now, live in water until you can breathe air again.  Harriet answers with a very happy nod, dives into the tank and her tail switches with her legs. All the male subjects gaze at her  underwater beauty  while Flapper gives them sharp 'Stop fucking looking like her slaves. She's a freak of  nature .so stop bowing down' glare, with a hint of disturbance in her eyes.
